INFO: Miren and Nicolas de Lorgeril, direct descendants of the first Marquis de Pennautier, are the tenth generation of the family to make wine on this estate. Maison Lorgeril are passionate about sustainability, the estate have been in organic conversion since 2015 and promote biodiversity through their vineyards.
The Minervois is a large natural ampitheatre, facing due south with its back and sides to the Montagne Noire. Made from a blend of Syrah (of which 50% is grown on schist soils and 20% undergoes carbonic maceration), Mourvedre and Grenache. Deep ruby in colour with notes of cherries and pepper on the nose. The palate is full bodied and complex with notes of dried fruits, truffle, chocolate and spice.
Serve with roast duck, venison, lamb and strong cheeses.
